Day 3 Success

Despite waking up with what would later prove to be a mean stomach flu, day 3 was a success.  We got our rental car which turned out to be a Toyota Yaris.  Success.  I woke up with the stomach flu but managed NOT to throw up all day while driving through the windy alps.  Success.  We took some great pics.  Success.  Jen navigated like a champion.  Success.  We had a short day trip adventure in Lucerne, Switzerland.  Success.  We arrived in Interlaken, ending our first road trip abroad alive.  Success.  Very eventful day.  Very successful.

Bless our lucky stars.......They gave us a Toyota Yaris!!!!!  We named it Yoshi because you kinda feel like you're riding in a go cart.

My navigator has skills.  Pretty impressed.

You wish you had a Yaris......yeah you.

We made a pitstop in Lucerne where we walked around and did a little shopping (mostly just looking).

We stopped at a restaurant on the river and shared a pizza (because we could split the cost that way). Our waitress may have dabbled in witchcraft.  We stole bread.  The water was NOT cheap.  But the view was amazing on the river.

Jen on the famous wooden bridge in Lucerne.

 No explanation needed.

This is our sneaky tactic for writing on a national treasure.  I took pictures and looked very touristy as she drew away behind me.  Sneaky.  So sneaky.
 We were very sneaky.

Many of the buildings had extravagant artwork on them.

This was the view on our drive to Interlaken.  I was real sick.  But we stopped a few times to take in the view.  All of the swiss alps views look like movie scenes.

Jen was so excited about the view that she began jumping up and down.  This pic is an action shot that somehow made her face look warped.  She is not as in your face in person.

Our room at the tent village in Interlaken. We got the "Toronto" tent. Jen claims she knows the entire Canadian national anthem.  Prove ittttttttttt.  Ask her to sing it for you next time you see her.

Feeling very accomplished that we made our first drive from Zurich to Interlaken successfully.  Such an adventure to drive Yoshi through the Swiss Alps with Jen!!

This is our pet snail that guards our stuff in the tent.  Jen has plenty to say about him and his big brother.............

 Tent Village!!! Our new home!
