July 12th: Wake Up Like a KING

We were definitely sad to leave our "baller suite" on lake como; but we were optimistic thinking about our campsite and our visit to Cinque Terre.  I was starting to feel a little more comfortable with "driving" (AKA go kart racing on TINY roads) in Italy.  So off we went.  This drive went considerably better.  We found our way straight to our campsite thanks to an athletic navigating performance by Jennifer.  :)

The roads are too small for your boat, sir.

"Sorry, I need to intervene on this post momentarily, because I feel like it would be a crime to not mention my funny little stories (that I think are funny anyways). We can call this Jennifer’s Intermission: (a little insight into the funny happenings of our drives):
So during Nick’s whole denial of being sunburnt. He used my lotion. ALOT of it. It was his aloe. Feeling guilty about using so much, he decided that he was going to buy his own. So when we stopped at the grocery store on the way out of town, he bought some dove face lotion....

Why do the photos progress that way you ask?!... What’s so funny? Let me tell you! When we were in the store, Nick didn’t understand what the bottle said (because it was in Italian), but there was a picture of a face on the front, so he figured it was face lotion. He asked a complete stranger for confirmation, but they were no help. So he just went for it. So these pictures show Nick putting the lotion on his face.... then wondering about the sticky/slimy texture of it.... and then me looking at the back, and reading the English translation on the back that said “beauty face wash” :)
On the upside, Nick told me that I was a better singer than Shakira!... and then obliviously continued on to say that Shakira was an awful singer... :)
(end intermission :)

Our campsite was doable but oh, so, VERY, hot.  After settling in we spent the day at the beach and went swimming in the ocean.  We caught more than enough cosmic rays as well as an impressive sunset and headed back to tent 23.  We made it!!  Ready for Cinque Terre!!
