July 23rd: "Capri"

Well, we were all excited when we woke up because it was sunny out! The grotto’s are really only worth seeing if its bright out, because it makes the colors brighter. We had a nice breakfast at home and headed down to meet up for our excursion. When our boat driver informed us that the weather wasn’t going to be nice enough and that it was too wavy out by the island, we had to cancel our excursion. We were so sad that we couldn’t go and were now at a loss of what to do on our last day in Sorrento. Knowing that there was still a ferry that goes to Capri (that’s how most people get there), we figured we might as well still go!..... but that was a HUGE mistake.
In short. We each bought $40 roundtrip tickets to Capri, bought food while we waited for the next ferry, went to Capri, realized that there is NOTHING to do there (because you can only get to the grotto’s by boat - which we knew, but just didn’t think about before we got there), sat for a minute in disgust that we really just paid $40 to do nothing, Nick bought a gross $5 frozen coffee, and we got back on the same ferry that dropped us off and went back home.

Nick was right, it was somewhat of a moral victory to just leave right away and let it go.

After our 15min trip to Capri, we had to walk back home in a torrential downpour. We stopped in shops along the way to avoid the rain, until we finally decided to just run through it all the way home.

Capri. Run through a rainstorm. Make more pasta. Sleep.

We love Capri, it has that same Florentine magic :)
