July 29th: German Chinese

Waking up to a rather cloudy day, it didn’t seem like the best idea to go for a hike. Since we hadn’t really planned out what to do, we decided that we would just go explore the town and shop. Unfortunately, by the time we drove to Saafeldon (the bigger town next to ours), we realized that it was Sunday. Nothing is open on Sundays. We did manage to find a little coffee shop called Bauer that was open, so we stopped there for some yummy pastries for breakfast. From there we went on a scenic drive all around our area before heading back to the condo. We actually spent most of the day just hanging out and enjoying the fact that we didn’t HAVE to do anything. We sat out on our balcony overlooking our view of the hills/mountains.

Then we went out for Chinese! German speaking Chinese people... it’s as wierd as it sounds. Happy to be eating something different, it was just as frustrating not knowing what we were eating (even though we had grabbed a take-away menu earlier, and looked up the translation for some things before we went to dinner). Maybe it’s just me, but it’s really hard to fully enjoy what I’m eating when I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s delicious! Or maybe it’s really not supposed to taste like that... I don’t know! So I don’t really have an opinion about our meal. I know it wasn’t Panda Express good.
